The Black Death

Night falls fast behind the shadows of his pathetic soul. The coldness of the air brush eerily against the now stiff skin of his mortal complexion, threatening to freeze it raw. Creepy shadows of the unknown lurk behind every tree, every corner, every stone, denying him even one moment of dire peace... He knew it was the end, the Judgement of Judments. The eternal moment of truth where he will learn the painful fact of his positioning in class...

He can feel the soreness of his limbs as he thrash desperately out of this nightmare, only to find his efforts evaporate in vain. He feels them - the synical smiles, the dissaproving looks, the dissapointment, despair and eternal shame above all. Alas, his feet catches a stray root of, and he goes down hard on the muddy floors of dead grass and bare stone. The burning sensation in his chest yearns to cry out for help, but he knows no one, no one at all will hear his cries of plea. He was alone now, trapped within the intertwined crossroads of choices, failure and death.

It was then that he saw a little glint of light, so dim and barely visible through the thick fogs of never-ending torment. It looked so peaceful, so serene, tempting him to go near it.

His knees trembled to support his weak, nimble frame as he stood up for what seemed to be his last stand. Armed wit no more than 3 months worth of notes, exam questions, references books and one large schoolbag, he knew time was reeling away with every wasted second. It was not enough, but it as all he had.

Slowly, he pushed forward, past the dead woods, past the bare stony grounds and foggy landscape, and into the light - his salvation....

'Examinations are dawning soon, and I haven't even started yet! So to all those in the same boat with mua, good lucks and gambatte! I've got little time, but make the best out of it neh? xD'
